I hope everyone had a great Easter! Thank you so very, very much to everyone who shared my post, visited the blog, used the recipes, shared your recipes, commented, sent an email and especially those who submitted their lamb cake or bunny cake or other Easter cakes for this year’s gallery. Every year I am thrilled by the excitement and friendliness and just plain cake-making fun that Easter brings out in all of us. Everything went off without a hitch…except for an unexpected website crashing caused by too many visitors at the 11th hour on the Saturday before Easter! It was crazy, but we were able to fix the problem on our end and bring the site back for everyone who was desperately trying to make their lamb cake without the tutorial! Whew. But in any case, I hope you enjoy this year’s gallery (there are some great ones!), but first let’s announce some winners!
The winners of the random draw for some vintage cookbooks are:
JDW!
Barb I!
Jill S!
Melissa S!
Congratulations, everyone! And what cute lambs. I have sent each of the winners message or email, and if you are a winner and you haven’t gotten a message from me, please email me at ruth@midcenturymenu.com and send me your mailing address!
So here’s the gallery for 2017, and I hope you guys enjoy it as much as I did. We had a lot of cake submissions this year! If you are curious, you can re-visit the galleries from 2016, 2015, 2014, 2013 and 2012 as well. Happy Easter!
Oh how fun to see everyone’s hard work! So much cuteness!
Congrats to all the creative bakers! Ruth, thanks for providing a forum for all the lambs, et al. It’s such fun to see everyone’s mad baking and decorating skills! (I especially enjoyed seeing all those deviled eggs too!) 🙂
They are all so cute!
That one with the razor is funny, I wonder if they figured out half way through decorating that they didn’t have enough coconut?
Kudos on a creative solution if that’s the case.
You guys did an awesome job on your lambs!
They look too good to cut into! 🙂
These are wonderful, great job, everyone!
where are the recipes??
Yes, please – where are the recipes? I used the pound cake recipe last year for my lamb cake and it was excellent….but I can’t find it now 🙁
