Who’s ready for a Monte Carlo?
Bonus on this one, we get to break out the Benedictine!
- 11/2 jiggers blended whiskey
- 1/2 jigger Benedictine
- 1 dash Angostura bitters
- Shake well with ice and strain into a cocktail glass. Garnish with a maraschino cherry if desired.
“This had better be good. It’s been a rough week.”
“How is it?”
“It’s a bit syrupy, but good.”
The Verdict: Good
From The Tasting Notes:
Tastes like a syrupy version of a Manhattan. The texture of the Benedictine gives it a thickness. Has some depth to it, without being overwhelming. I really have started to enjoy Benedictine, and I would drink this over a Manhattan. Would probably pair well with a cigar.
I want Tom’s tee shirt.
Well, I happen to live in Monte Carlo and I have to tell you I’ve never seen any drink like that here. More’s the pity!
I remember ordering these when I was young. They were quite the thing in the 70s.
