Pre-dinner party pickups - serve hot. You'll find them a big success

12 thin slices white bread
8 slices bacon, cooked, drained, and crumbled
6 oz cream cheese, softened
12 cooked asparagus spears
melted butter

Trim crusts from bread slices; roll with rolling pin to flatten slightly. Blend bacon bits with cream cheese and spread mixture on bread slices.

Lay a cold, cooked asparagus spread on each slice of bread and roll up.

Place on baking sheet, seam side down. Cover and refrigerate until serving time.

Brush with melted butter and toast in broiler until lightly browned.

Serve hot. Makes 12 appetizers.
