From You're Really Cooking When Your Cooking With 7-Up, 1957
2 egg whites
1 ½ cups sugar
½ cup 7-Up
1 tbsp light corn syrup
¼ tsp cream of tartar
1 tsp vanilla

Put egg whites, sugar, 7-Up, light corn syrup, and cream of tartar into top of double boiler over boiling water. Using electric mixer, beat on high speed until mixture forms stiff peaks.

Remove from heat and add vanilla. Beat one additional minute.

Makes enough filling and frosting for two 9-inch cake layers.
