Tested Recipe!

1 cup butter
½ cup sifted confectioner's sugar
½ tsp salt
1 tbsp water
1 tsp vanilla
2 cups rolled oats
Red or green candied cherries
2 cups flaked coconut
Frosting
2 cups powdered sugar
¼ cup milk
2 drops green food coloring
2 drops mint extract

Cream butter with sugar, salt, water, and vanilla. Add flour and beat until blended. Stir in oats. Shape dough around whole cherries into balls about 1 inch in diameter. Place on ungreased baking sheets.

Bake in a 325-degree oven for 18 to 20 mins. Cool on racks.
Dip cooled cookies into the frosting, then roll in coconut. Let dry on racks.

Combine sugar, milk, food coloring and extract. Beat until smooth.
