Chocolate Puff Pudding with Sunshine Dessert Sauce

Chocolate Puff Pudding
1 package cook and serve vanilla pudding powder
½ cup powdered milk
1 cup water
3 egg yolks
1 tbsp butter or margarine
6 oz semi-sweet chocolate chips
2 tsp vanilla
3 egg whites
⅓ cup powdered milk
Sunshine Dessert Sauce
⅔ cup powdered milk
1 egg
¼ cup soft butter or margarine
1 cup powdered sugar
1 tbsp water
1 tsp vanilla
Chocolate Puff Pudding
1Mix pudding powder, 1/2 cup powdered milk, and water. Stir until smooth. Cook and stir over medium heat.
2Take off the heat and stir in egg yolks. Put back on the heat and continue to cook and stir until mixture bubbles. Take off heat.
3Add butter, chocolate chips and vanilla. Stir until chocolate melts.
4Put egg whites and 1/3 cup powdered milk in bowl of an electric mixer. Beat at high speed until stiff. Fold in chocolate mixture. Pour into a deep, ungreased 1-quart baking dish. Set dish in a shallow pan holding an inch of hot water. Bake in a 350-degree oven about 65 minutes, or until no imprint remains when touched lightly in the center with finger. Serve hot with Sunshine Dessert Sauce.
Yield: 6 servings
Sunshine Dessert Sauce
5Put powdered milk, egg, butter, powdered sugar, water and vanilla in the bowl of electric mixer.
6Beat with electric mixer at high speed until smooth and creamy enough to pour. Serve over Chocolate Puff Pudding.
