Combine sour cream, shortening, and egg; beat until smooth. Add nuts. Sift together dry ingredients; add to sour cream mixture. Stir only until moistened. Drop by 1/3 cup portions onto a greased baking sheet. Bake at 400 degrees for 12-15 minutes. Split shortcakes; fill and top with strawberries and whipped cream.
