Pat Nixon’s Chocolate Butter Cookies

 1 pound butter
 1 cup sugar
 2 oz baking chocolate, melted and cooled
 2 eggs, well-beaten
 1 tsp vanilla
 4 cups flour

Cream together butter and sugar with chocolate. Add eggs, vanilla, and flour. Mix well, then chill, roll thin and cut. Bake in a 400-degree oven for 7 to 10 minutes.
Yield: 5 dozen cookies
