From 1924 - From the Jell-O Museum and Gallery

 1 small package Cherry Jell-O
 1 cup boiling water
 1 cup whipped cream
 6 macaroons - crushed
 handful of chopped nuts
 cherries for garnish

Dissolve a package of Cherry Jell-O in 1 cup of boiling water and chill. When Jell-O is cold, whip to consistency of whipped cream. Then add one cup whipped cream, one-half dozen macaroons crushed, and a handful of chopped nuts. Set away to harden. Garnish with cherries and serve with whipped cream.
