I love everything retro, vintage, mid-century, kitsch and all things atomic! A 21st century housewife just trying to fit in...to the 50's. I have a passion for vintage recipes and an enormous vintage cookbook collection that I keep testing, even though by now I should know better. This reminds me of those horrid little crocheted toilet-paper holders that all lower-middle class people in my childhood seemed to possess. They were made from a cheap plastic Barbie-doll knock-off. The legs went down through the cardboard roll, and then a crocheted dress (a la a hoop-skirt) covered the toilet paper roll. This was then displayed on the back of the toilet, presumably for emergency use but mostly to impress the users of the toilet with the family’s good taste and classy ways. My brother and I used to turn ours upside down, so that the head and torso were hidden and the naked plastic legs stuck up from the roll. We were barbarians.
I just had to look that up and… wow. Classy with a capital K.
They are horrid. And creepy
