Being the oldest of 6 kids, we grew up eating pot pie at least once a week. Chicken and left over pot roast were the meat of the week and any vegies my mom had would be added. The potato always made it go farther. It was real comfort food and I still make it in a gluten free version.
Try this one I found from the feb 25th 1970 issue of the aust women’s weekly:
(sigh) an easy, fill-up-hungry-mouths casserole.
I was about to get excited cause this looked like a pot pie made with doughnuts on top!
