The Month of Crayfish

August is the month of crayfish and beautiful moonlight. Catching crayfish with nets, a popular sport, is permitted from the midnight between August 7 and 8 till the end of September, and the first crayfish parties are given on August 8. Colored paper lanterns are hung in the garden and if one is lucky the whole scene is illuminated by an August full moon. The table is decorated with candles and red paper ornaments. Crayfish is served with beer.
